According to a news report by walb.com, there was a fatal Easter Holiday Weekend accident among several other catastrophic accidents across the state of Mississippi. One of the more serious and tragic accidents that occurred over the weekend was a two car accident along Mississippi 15 and Road 844 that resulted in 5 people receiving serious injures.
A teenager from Sebastopol, Mississippi was traveling in his 2005 GMC truck until he lost control and had a head-on accident with a Mazda driven by Mr. Stokes of Noxapater, Mississippi. Mr. Stokes was traveling northbound as the Sebastopol teenage was traveling southbound according to Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesperson, Andy West.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol stated that the “GMC crossed over the center line” and that was the reason for the fatal head-on accident.
The passenger and driver of the Mazda were rushed to the nearest hospital for emergency medical treatment. The teenage driver and his teenage passenger were also rushed to the hospital to receive emergency medical care.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol has not assigned blame for the crash and the actual cause of the head-on collision is currently under investigation.
